What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tagged URL that identifies to a third-party operator or booking platform that a visitor came from our website. When you click an affiliate link on oxadventura.com and subsequently complete a qualifying action (such as making a booking), we may receive a commission — a small percentage of the transaction value — from the operator or platform.
This commission is paid by the operator, not by you. The price you pay for any tour or service is exactly the same whether you arrive via our affiliate link or by navigating directly to the operator's website.
Which Links Are Affiliate Links?
Links to tour operators' booking pages on this site may be affiliate links. We do not mark every individual affiliate link with a separate label on the page, but this disclosure page — linked from the footer of every page on this site — constitutes the required disclosure under applicable consumer protection and advertising regulations, including the US FTC guidelines and UK ASA/CAP rules.
Links to informational resources, government websites, national park authorities, scientific organisations, and editorial sources are never affiliate links.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Content
They do not — and here is why we can say that honestly:
- We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Tour operators cannot pay to be featured, reviewed positively, or ranked higher in our comparison tables. Our descriptions of tours are based on publicly available information, operator documentation, and reader accounts.
- We describe tours as accurately as we can, including limitations and drawbacks. If a tour is expensive, physically demanding, or has known issues (long selling-out windows, limited flexibility), we say so clearly — even if that might reduce the chance of a reader clicking through and booking.
- We cover tours regardless of whether an affiliate arrangement exists. If a relevant tour is operated by a company with no affiliate programme, we cover it anyway and link to their booking page with a standard (non-affiliate) link.
- Commission rates do not influence which tour we recommend for a given reader. We recommend based on fitness level, budget, and experience preference — not on which tour generates the highest commission.
